How your donations will be used.

  • Supporting candidates for mayor and town commissioners in the upcoming election on November 5, 2019 who are dedicated to fighting for the rights of citizens, keeping the power of government in check, promoting active citizen participation, and who place the interests of the people and our community first over those of developers and special interests.
  • Providing our citizens the opportunity to have their voices heard through broadcasted electronic media.
  • Informing the citizens of Matthews about disturbing actions being taken by our elected officials.
  • Printing brochures, flyers, mailers and newspaper advertisements and other printed material to provide details about the business being conducted by our elected officials.
  • Protecting and preserving Matthews by keeping what has made Matthews a great place to live while making it even better for all people in the future.

Why your donations are important.

Protect Matthews PAC will work for all of the citizens of Matthews to protect our freedom of speech, hold elected officials accountable, and advocate for leadership that has our best interests in mind.

Protecting our heritage.

The motto "Remembering our past while building our future" not only applies to remembering our physical past, our history and historical sites, but, also, remembering our past as a nation....remembering what made us great and remembering the values and spirit of the founders of our country....as our town undergoes the inevitable growth that it will experience.

Our Founding Fathers felt the same way.

Twenty five hundred years ago the concept of democracy was born. It reached its maturity, in full glory, when the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights, were ratified in 1791.

The first, and perhaps the most precious, of these amendments states "Congress shall make no law....abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press...".

Also, in reference to our elected officials, James Madison, wrote that they "... should have an immediate dependence on, and an intimate sympathy with, the people..."
